Hey Folks,
just wanted to show you the mod I´m currently working on...

Quite some time ago I started to work on my own vision of Balmora. I´m not into Balmora Expanded, and for some reason, after using it for a while, I got tired of Vality´s Bittercoast trees, so Bittercoast-Balmora is not an option (for now^^).
I also found out that I dont like Balmora being a part of the Bittercoast, because it originally belongs to the Westgash.
All the other Mods changing Balmora´s cityscape in general (not just adding a house or something) just didnt do what I would have liked to be done.

So I started to do it myself....main Idea was to make Balmora look more "westgashy", more "lived-in" and more like its described by citizens and literature.

Due to a lack of time I didnt get very far ´til now...it´s that RL-thing again.^^
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here´s a list of what has been done and what is planned to be done:

Done:
- upscaled most of the trees in and around Balmora, and added more of them to create a more dense feeling
- added more plants and rocks
- changed some of the ground textures
- made the "ghetto" (the area where Caius lives) more "ghettoish" to let it look more like described by the citizens
- added some more misc details (you´ll find out what I mean by watching the screenshots)

Planned:
- add more detail^^ (none of the above can actually be seen as finished, its just what I´ve done till now.)
- add more misc items and all that stuff that can be found in a city (bottles, clothes, buckets, brooms, .....) to make Balmora appeal more "lived-in"
- make the appeal of the different quarters more distinguishable by adding unique textures to the buildings
-find a good name (ideas: diversified Balmora, Balmora RWG, Balmora of the Westgash^^)
- whait for your comments and suggestions to maybe change/add stuff you would like to see in this mod Wink

Well, I guess thats about it for now, enjoy the screenies and please leave some feedback, telling me any of your thoughts!
p.s. Sorry if my language may sound a little weird, I´m german^^

Update: 03/03/09

Because this thread got messy with new and outdated screens being all around, I decided to update the mainpost.
The main Ideas about this mod did not change, so I only updated the screenshot-section of the mainpost. This is also because all the screenshots were outdated.
So here´s a bunch of up-to-date screenies for the ones that are interested. Wink

ps: Dont get fooled by the red lanterns, that has only been an issue with a replacer.

pps: Some of you might think: "Oh...well, I´ve seen that screenshot before...." In this case just take a second, closer look and I think you WILL find something new...there´s new details all around, some bigger, some smaller.

ppps: I just copied this post from the bethesda forum, so dont wonder why you didnt see it here before the update ;D

The new wall texture looks good up close, but is far too repetitive at any distance. Those new flags look great though!

Although the scenery is very picturesque, I think perhaps that you've made Balmora look too rural. The waterfall is particularly good!

The textures of the buildings and the signs and banners will not be included in the mod....thats just the replacers I´m using in my game at the moment. Wink

I registered for the forums just to say that I can't wait for this. I recently started a new game of Morrowind, looking forward to taking a different path through the world than I did last time, and was looking at various city enhancers. For Balmora, while I really like Princess Stomper's Balmora Ghetto, I really didn't find one that did what I was looking for -- make the city more dense and...um...resembling a city that people live in. So I'm really looking forward to this release, which promises to do exactly what I want. I hope it's still being worked on.

If you're still looking for a name, I suggest Denser Balmora.
