Sadrith Mora Telvanni Home
Author: Denina
Can be downloaded here

Author's Description:
This places an Imperial style house in Sadrith Mora, on the east side of town (behind Tel Naga) for a Telvanni character. You can't just move in. You have to buy it first. In order to do so, speak to Lerara Arenem in the Telvanni Council House Entry. She should not be difficult to find.

A Brief Intro:
This is a house mod for those Telvannists who (like me) felt Tel Uvirith is a bit too far from anywhere and need someplace to put whatever things he/she want to in his/her home. Though playing Telvanni can be lot of fun, I find the architecture somewhat repulsive. There are too many alleys, the rooms are too small and not well connected and it is very easy to get jammed somewhere (especially if you got some NPCs around). I once lost Neloth just to find he'd fallen and stuck in one of the pipe-like alley of his overgrown fungus. Now, thanks to this mod, I can have a spacious living quarter in Telvanni downtown without having to feel like a hamster.

To be sure, this mod give a house for 20,000 septims which you can pay cash or being a Telvanni...no. There's no other way around. Given unhealthy future of adventuring live, credit is definitely out of question here. The house's architecture is of Imperial style, inside you'll find some already placed furnitures, containers and racks. It is of medium size (for a house), if you want comparison, look at Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad (about same size). For other amenities and conveniences, you can consult the text file accompanying this mod.

Sadrith Mora Telvanni Home

I've downloaded this mod since its release. I think that might be last year. Whenever I played a Telvanni, the house went along. Because this house requires a payment, I never played a new game with this mod only. Instead, this mod usually goes along game which I put someother mods in and has enough cash already.

Concept: Excellent

Not all Telvannists are fanatic traditionalists, and even those who do might find a Telvanni architecture enchanted with constant-effect annoyance. Especially the interior. You always got stuck somewhere, unable to jump, fallen for unknown reason, having to to levitate all the time, difficult to navigate (especially with companions) and not enough spaces. Myself, I find mushrooms excellent only for a bowl of soup. This mod give a spacious house without disregard to overall Telvanni feeling. It is placed in downtown Sadrith Mora, within reasonable proximity to services, the councils and others, and if you have to pay some price, then of course. Tel Uvirith might be cheaper, but you got nothing to do and nowhere to go then.

Lore Accuracy: Good

For Telvanni home, Sadrith Mora is of course the obvious best bet. There's also some background story about it. Personally, I don't regard the architecture to be against tradition as the whole concept of Telvanni itself is "against tradition". Everyone is free to have his/her own preferred style (for sure, Baladas lives in Velothi tower while Aryon lives in Imperial/Telvanni mish mash).

Design: Excellent

The house succeeds in producing to homey feeling as it should. Doors and windows are all well placed. This and overall shape are consistent between interior and exterior. The floor and wall design are good, not too overdone. Ornamental carpets are carefully placed and the containers all placed in logical manner. The whole design gives impression that this house is larger than it actually is.

Another smart thing worth mentioning, the basement is intended for the player to design him/herself according to his/her taste (can use furniture mods there, see how good can you be?)

The house placement gave first impression as if the house was carved in the land slope, but considering Sadrith Mora landscape, surely this is already the best can be done without having to change overall landscape.

Attention to Details: Very Good

As already mentioned, the house was carefully designed and the whole mod was well executed. So far I haven't experienced any problems or conflicts or other inconsistencies.

Of course, if I might add some of my own, there are some things I'd like to be done in different way:

There can be like a table and maybe one or two chairs in entry area to receive any guest. It is spacious enough. And as there are already two racks and chests, the wine rack can go (might help to avoid false impression of tavern-like establishment and hint of alcoholism).

The dining table and chair set are what I'd expect in a shack somewhere along Bitter Coast. I suggest furniture with better finishing like those in Tel Naga or other Telvanni home around Sadrith Mora.

There are so many cupboards already in the kitchen which can be used for ingredients containers. A special alchemy ingredients cabinet might not be needed as it has same function. The wine rack can be placed there instead.

As there are cupboards in the kitchen, no need to put them upstairs as well. Also, some crates and chests are there already. Sure, these containers are needed for tons of items out there, but if I want a pack rat-friendly place and show everything I've collected, I won't use this house in the first place. To avoid warehousing impression, can have another chair/table in the cupboards' place.

The basement can use a little less light. It is supposed to be a basement after all.

Last but not least, I found it especially nice to have some indoor plants as well. For ornamental purpose that is, not as cheap way to increase my alchemy skill.

Conflicts:

This mod adds a house in Sadrith Mora and one NPC is Telvanni council building. I've not found any conflicts regarding those, but with that many mods out there, who knows?

Overall:

A good house mod for Telvanni character, suitable for mid level adventurer who like to rest between adventures, in need of some privacy, with a taste for interior designing, has a reasonable quantity of collectibles and still interested in worldly affair of Sadrith Mora.

House design might not be suitable for everyone and subject to personal taste. However, this mod has so many good aspects that would offset any deficiency.
